Alfonso Soriano has become the fourth player in major-league history to collect 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a single season.

The Washington Nationals outfielder joined the exclusive 40-40 club on Saturday night when he swiped second base in the first inning against the Milwaukee Brewers. The theft gave Soriano 40 steals to go along with 45 home runs this season.

rd 40 steals and 40 homers in a season.
Soriano nearly joined their company in 2002, when he stole 41 bases and hit 39 home runs for the New York Yankees. He has two other 30-30 campaigns to his credit ? in 2003 with the Yankees and last year with the Texas Rangers, who shipped him to Washington after the season.Click here for more info.
