  My heritage is from the Dominican Republic. My dad was born in the Dominican Republic and so is his mom and dad. My mom was born in the United State but her mom and dad were born in the Dominican Republic. I was born in the U.S.A but I grew up there. My family has a really big tradition. That tradition is that every year we gather up for thanksgiving and Christmas to celebrate and see each other.

We all bring food. On thanksgiving my aunt makes a cake a bring it to eat and we also pray. On Christmas my uncle makes lots of food. For example my uncle makes pastelitos, pork, rice, salad and much more. The main speaking language is Spanish. The main dance in the Dominican Republic is merengue and bachata.

    In the Dominican Republic there is lots of hotel for you to stay in. Lots of tourist visit there because people are friendly and the climate is mostly hot. Inside the hotel there is lots of great food. For example the food that they mostly serve is plantain with salami and cheese, habichuela con dulces, arrow con dulces, chicken, rice with beans, Also they have lots of nice beaches there are warm and clean. 

    In the Dominican Republic people wear regular clothes like for example sleeves t-shirt and pant with flip-flops. The wear this clothes because the climate is hot and it rains a lot. Most people in the Dominican Republic are poor. Most of the kids are in the street selling ice-cream and cleaning shoes. Even though Dominican Republic is poor and may have lots of hotel.
